On April 11th the HWC hosted a beach party at the monthly meeting. It included beach decorations, beach inspired food, beach themed games (crossword puzzle, BEACH BINGO, and beach bowling to name a few!), an ice cream “truck” break and Beach Boys music. Everyone dressed for the occasion with lots of sun hats and tropical attire. The highlight was the amount of items the club generously donated to the Cape Cod Foster Closet! Over $3,500 worth of goods and funds! The Cape Cod Foster Closet sent 2 reps (Nancy and Cindy) to accept the donations and participate in all the fun.

In March, Sharon (founder) and Carla (Exec director) of the CCFC came to our meeting to introduce us to the organization. We learned a lot about what they do and how many families on the cape they support.

Dona W. and Pattie T. ran this community service event. Special thanks to both of them for going above and beyond to make this event SO FUN!

Another GREAT event was held on Oct 12th! The HWC and the Chase Library joined together to bring author Julie Gerstenblatt to our meeting. Julie is the author of Daughters of Nantucket. Julie discussed how she came to be an author and write Daughters of Nantucket.

The HWC hosted the event with a lovely social first, including delicious tea sandwiches and homemade desserts. Thanks to Pattie Twoerk for organizing this wonderful collaberation.

Below the Brine bookstore in Harwich Port also joined us and provided the book for sale and Julie signed them! Stop by Below the Brine and pick up Julie’s book!

The luncheon was delicious including all the homemade desserts! The silent auction was full of great items to bid on. Looks like everyone enjoyed playing games also!
